DAIC STREAMLINES ITS ‘QUARTERLY BUSINESS PERFORMANCE SURVEY’ FOR Q1, 2025
The Dominica Association of Industry & Commerce (DAIC) is pleased to announce the streamlining of the ‘2025 Q1 Quarterly Business Performance Survey’ (QBPS) — which will gather crucial data on the performance of businesses within the private sector. This survey aims to better understand business conditions and ensure that market statistics accurately reflect the current economic climate.
“The Quarterly Business Performance Survey is a crucial tool for gathering accurate data that reflects the true state of Dominica’s private sector,” said Ashma McDougall, Executive Director at the Chamber.
“By collecting key metrics on business performance, we ensure that our market statistics are grounded in real insights on the ground, which are essential for informed decision-making and effective economic planning.”
McDougall continued by stating, “the value of this survey goes beyond data collection. We are also committed to publishing the results, providing new entrants with crucial insights into business performance expectations and forecasts by industry. This transparency will help guide emerging businesses in making informed decisions, ultimately contributing to stronger, more sustainable business outcomes across Dominica.”
The Quarterly Business Performance Survey will focus on key areas:
- Labour Participation Data: Including the number of full-time and part-time employees, along with demographic information (age, gender).
- Business Operations: Information about electrical outages experienced during the first quarter of the year.
- Financials: Sales performance and cash flow analysis.
- Economic Outlook: Insights into inflationary forecasts and expectations.
The Quarterly Business Performance Survey has been collecting responses from businesses across all sectors of the private sector in Dominica from April 8th (following the hosting of the Chamber’s Inaugural Post- Budget Luncheon), and will continue up until May 9th, 2025. While the survey will be conducted online, the Chamber will embark on a national drive to increase participation and businesses will receive detailed instructions on how to complete the survey. It is important that businesses complete the survey within the given timeframe to ensure their responses are included in the final analysis.
